Dr. Coleen Suckling, a Research Officer at Bangor University, Wales, UK, will discuss the uniqueness of the Antarctic marine environment and provide a background into how organisms are adapted well to this cold water environment in relation to warmer regions of the globe. She will also outline how predicted multiple parameters of climate change may create problems for these organisms. Information on recent research which shows that organisms (e.g. sea urchins) can acclimate to climate change by describing their physiological and trans-generational responses to multiple stressors will be presented.

There is no charge for this presentation. Seating limited to 60 people.
