Around the world, mangroves are marching poleward, displacing temperate saltmarshes. Fish, crabs, and shrimp depend on coastal wetlands, so changes from grassy marshes to woody mangrove forests have the potential to impact habitat for many marine animals. This research, completed along the Atlantic Coast of Florida, compares the quality of mangrove and marsh habitat for marine species, especially crabs, and helps determine how shifts from marshes to mangroves will shape communities of marine animals.
There is no charge for this presentation. Seating limited to 60 people.
