On Tuesday, April 13, we will come together, wherever we are in the world, to celebrate and support our vibrant university community. Every gift to any area, no matter the size, makes a difference and helps unlock challenges that increase the impact of your gift. Be sure to tune in throughout the day for more than a dozen virtual programs on topics ranging from networking and social justice to study abroad and mindfulness.
Join the Law School Community during one of our two programs during the day:
W&M VET: Optimizing the Military & Veterans Network - 12pm ET
Made possible by a generous $10-million gift from an anonymous alumna, W&M VET (Veteran-to-Executive Transition) is an incredible demonstration of cross-campus interdisciplinary partnerships to support our veteran students, alumni and veterans in our community. Join us at our virtual table to discuss W&M VET, veteran affairs on and off campus and how W&M is making a difference for those who have served our country.
Panelists include:
Robert Merkl, Special Assistant for Military & Veterans Affairs
Charlie Foster M.Ed. ’17, Director, Office of Student Veteran Engagement
Michael Dick J.D. ’06, Co-Director, The Lewis B. Puller, Jr. Veterans Benefits Clinic and Visiting Professor of the Practice
Kathryn Floyd ’05, Director, Whole of Government Center of Excellence
Elizabeth Burgin, Assistant Professor, Counselor Education and Military and Veterans Counseling Program Coordinator
Research, Educate, Act: Engaging in Social Justice Work - 12pm ET
Established in fall 2020, the Center for Racial and Social Justice is a university-wide initiative housed at William & Mary Law School. Within it, faculty and students across disciplines collaborate to conduct research, educate and engage in antiracist and social justice work. Join us to learn more about the Law School and School of Education’s work in advancing racial and social justice through student and community education, research and advocacy, and student development and success.
