[PAST EVENT] Interest Meeting for the LGBTQ Research Project: Documenting the LGBTQ Past in Virginia
The William & Mary LGBTQ Research Project: Documenting the LGBTQ Past in Virginia aims to better understand, chronicle, and preserve the history of LGBTQ people in Virginia. This community-based research project, is part of a larger national effort to document the histories of LGBTQ people and the policies and laws that have affected their lives. The materials uncovered through this project (when possible) will become part of a free and publicly accessible database for use by students, members of the national community, scholars, and teachers (among others). We will also produce exhibits, a finding aid, and inspire future research.
The William & Mary LGBTQ Research Project is recruiting student researchers for Fall 2019 and Spring 2020. Students who participate in this important project will build upon previous years’ research. Under faculty guidance, you will be trained in research methods for both archives and oral history as well as help put together exhibits online as well as here at William & Mary.
