The William & Mary Police will be conducting a one-day, campus-wide Traffic Safety initiative to spread awareness through educational enforcement on Friday, February 28th, 2020. Our primary focus will be bicycle safety and the crosswalk awareness. We will continue to address pedestrian, golf cart, and vehicular safety. W&MPD have received significant feedback from concerned community members about various traffic issues. As Community Focus is one of our four core values, we work diligently to address issues brought to our attention to keep our community safe!

Did you know that bicycles traveling on the roads are subject to the same laws as motor vehicles (yielding to pedestrians in crosswalks, stop signs, one-way roads, etc)? Learn more about bike safety here: https://www.wm.edu/offices/auxiliary/parkingandtransportation/transportation/bike/rules_safety/index.php

Did you know that the front of the Mason School of Business is NOT a drop-off/pick-up zone? Vehicles that stop for drop-offs/pick-ups in this area cause unnecessary traffic congestion, and create difficulty for drivers to see pedestrians as they cross the street.

Stay Alert and Stay Safe!
