[PAST EVENT] Campus Clean-Up Day
March 26, 2011
10am - 1pm
On Saturday, March 26th, the entire campus community is invited to participate in a campus trash/recycle clean up event. Campus Clean-Up Day has many sponsors but is part of an overall effort to beautify campus and increase sustainability awareness. Students, staff and faculty are invited to participate in groups or as individuals.
The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and all groups and individuals will meet at the main (east) entrance to the Sadler Center (next to the Cohen Career Center). There will be free food and drinks for all participants after the event. Free t-shirts will be provided to a limited number of volunteers on a first-come, first-served basis.
Groups and individuals should sign up (each person must register) at: {{http://www.wm.edu/sites/sustainability/getinvolved/volunteer/campus-clean-up-day-2011/index.php}}. Groups will have a leader and be assigned areas within walking distance across campus. Individuals will be assembled into groups or augment other groups. Facilities Management will provide direct support to groups.
Volunteers should wear weather appropriate and comfortable clothing/shoes and be prepared to clean wooded areas. Long pants and sleeves are recommended. Trash and recycle bags along with protective gloves will be provided to each volunteer.
Any questions about Campus Clean Up Day can be directed to [[smhanke, Sarah Hanke]] or [[rjavalle, Bob Avalle]]. Please see the Single Stream Recycling document link below.
The Recyclemania Fair will be held in the Crim Dell Meadow from 2-5 p.m. the same day and all volunteers are invited to stay.
