[PAST EVENT] A Porch Talk on the Bray School with Valerie Trovato
The Associates of the Late Reverend Dr. Thomas Bray of London, with the recommendation of Benjamin Franklin, created a school for free and enslaved African American children in Williamsburg, Virginia, 1760-1774. Come to the porch talk on Wednesday, April 12th at 12:00pm in Chesapeake C to find out how the Bray School started, what was taught and what the impact of that learning meant for the future of African Americans.
