Gekiga and the Japanese Counterculture of the '60s

Dr. Suzuki, of Baruch College, CUNY, will discuss his first-hand experience with Japanese manga as well as the fascinating genre called gekiga, or "dramatic pictures," which emerged in 1960s Japan.
