"Chosen" Documentary Screening

William & Mary Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA), with the Black Law Student Association and Election Law Society, is hosting a screening of Chosen, a documentary about five Korean-American congressional candidates who ran in 2020. The documentary follows the election campaigns of Marilyn Strickland (Washington), Michelle Park Steel (California), Young Kim (California), and Andy Kim (New Jersey), who were elected or re-elected in 2020, as well as David Kim, who lost the election in California’s 34th District but is running again this November.

The screening event will feature a Q&A session with Joseph Juhn, the director of Chosen who was also a practicing attorney before he started to make films about the Korean diaspora. Refreshments and beverages will be provided.
