The American Pops Orchestra (APO), directed by Maestro Luke Frazier, is thrilled to announce that a William & Mary student, Emily Flack, will compete in the third annual vocal competition “NextGen: The Voices of Tomorrow.” Emily Flack was selected to join 29 other semi-finalists in Washington DC in March, but the on-site competition needed to be postponed due to COVID-19. On Friday, April 24th and Saturday, April 25th, 30 semi-finalists from university programs will virtually compete to win the top title. Votes from a panel of judges and the virtual audience will determine the best voice of tomorrow. Anyone can register on-line to receive a link to the livestream competition. The program will be streamed online, with the semi-finals and finals both beginning at 8 p.m. on their respective evenings. Winners will be announced LIVE on April 26th at 8:00 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded, and the first-place winner will be featured in an upcoming APO show in the 2020-2021 season.
Consider joining the event and supporting our student Emily. Registration is free, but a donation to support the cost of the event and prize money for the winners is appreciated.
