Viriginia Eastern Shore Field Trip Flyer

The Department of Geology at W&M is hosting a field trip to the Virginia Eastern Shore Lab to explore beach erosion, barrier island formation, oyster reefs, and much more! We will be leaving on Friday March 28, 2025 at 2 PM and will be returning late on Saturday March 29. 

Where: VIMS Eastern Shore Lab (overnight in dorm) 

When: Leaving at 2pm on Friday March 28th and Returning late the next day

What: Explore barrier islands, beach erosion, oyster reefs, and more!

What to expect: We’ll be out in the elements (wind, cold temps, possibly rain) during the day, in the field and on small boats.

IMPORTANT: You’re required to wear shoes with closed toe and closed heels on boats, in the field, and around the ESL campus
