[PAST EVENT] Dr. Scott Edwards, Amnesty International-USA
November 10, 2011
5pm - 7pm
As human rights watchdogs and advocates are increasingly relying on new tools borne from scientific inquiry and technological progress, new opportunities abound for collaboration and synthesis between various fields of study, and human rights protection.
Join us to hear about innovative approaches to human rights monitoring and advocacy explored by Amnesty International, and how geospatial tools and techniques in particular are shaping the manner in which human rights research is evolving. In addition to surveying the dramatic shift in human rights research and advocacy over the past few years, this talk will explore the boundaries where human rights defense and advanced methodologies and technologies are merging, with an eye toward new possibilities in guaranteeing the rights of the most vulnerable people.
