[PAST EVENT] Road to Richmond
January 27, 2015
12pm - 8pm
Location
General Assembly Building, Richmond
Every year the College of William & Mary and the Student Assembly sponsor a trip to Richmond in which students are able to meet and lobby Virginia state representatives.
This excursion provides an extremely useful experience and is a great introduction to politics.
The journey begins in the afternoon of Tuesday, January 27th, with a bus ride up to Richmond, followed by a quick introduction to the General Assembly building. Students will then divide up into groups and personally contact a select few legislators to discuss the College's legislative stance and goals. Afterwards, students will be a part of an evening reception in the Capitol building with various Virginia state senators and delegates. As of right now, we are expecting to depart from campus at around 12:00pm and leave the evening reception at around 7:30pm. More details about precise meeting times and places will be emailed to participants.
This event is open to any W&M student, regardless of major or year, and is a great way to network and learn about a crucial aspect of American politics.
