Natoya Haskins, director of diversity & inclusion at the School of Education, will lead a faculty panel exploring the distinct differences between being an ally and an accomplice.

While an ally is willing to stand in support of a marginalized voice, risk is rarely involved. An accomplice uses the power and privilege they have to challenge the status quo and take the steps needed to make their workplaces and communities truly safe spaces for marginalized people. In this webinar, a panel of education faculty members will share their own experiences in becoming an accomplice, focusing on developmental processes, strategies and resources for individuals looking to move from ally to accomplice.

• Natoya Haskins, associate professor of counselor education and director of diversity and inclusion at the W&M School of Education
• Kim Hughes, assistant professor of counseling at Clark Atlanta University and president for the Association of Multicultural Counseling & Development (AMCD)
• Leandra Parris, assistant professor of school psychology at the W&M School of Education
• LoriAnn Stretch, clinical associate professor of counselor education at the W&M School of Education
