[PAST EVENT] Poetry & Identity: A Spoken Word Workshop
Access & Features
- Open to the public
Breeze the Poet is an award-winning spoken word artist, coach, and public speaker who has won multiple state and national awards for his performances. His titles include Individual World Poetry Slam Champion, the 7x King of the South Regional Slam Champion, and more. His achievements as a coach include coaching The Writers Den Slam team to third in the nation in 2022. We have invited him to teach a “masterclass,” open to all interested W&M students, on how to more authentically and impactfully tell personal stories through the medium of spoken word.
Whether you're a writer who has just scratched the surface of the world of poetry or an experienced spoken word poet who has competed in slams before, this is the perfect workshop to learn about the world of spoken word and level up your writing. You'll have the chance to participate in writing exercises, practice performing a piece, and even get individual critiques from Breeze himself.
You can RSVP for the event on Inside Out Theatre's Tribe Link page!
