[PAST EVENT] STLI Workshop: Vlogging for Online Courses
Location
Remote via Zoom or In-PersonAccess & Features
- Registration/RSVP
Join us for a special STLI workshop focused on the multimedia phenomenon known as vlogging and how you can use it in your online courses. Facilitated by Jeremy Higham of Higham & Company, the workshop will be broken up into two sections. In the first hour, Jeremy will discuss vlogging and how you can use it in your online courses. The second hour of the workshop will be dedicated to a hands-on demonstration. With extensive documentary experience, Higham has taught blogging both in the UK and India.
So, what do we mean when we say vlog? In its purest form, it is a shared thought, a discovery or revelation that somebody has had that is communicated directly to the camera and posted on social media. Most teenagers and young adults are already getting most of their entertainment and information through a vlog, and as usual, the adults are catching up. Higham will explore how you can get on the band-wagon. Or if you’re already on it, he will further discuss how you can get good at it and how can you make vlogging work for your online courses.
Registrants can attend via Zoom or in-person. In-person capacity is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.
If you select to attend in-person, the event will be located at the Studio for Teaching & Learning Innovation located in G64 on the ground floor of Swem Library. Participants will be asked to observe physical distancing guidelines and masks will be required.
