In recent years, student use of generative AI has threatened to deprive them of the ability to develop useful skills in the classroom, creating a serious pedagogical challenge for many instructors. While AI has many productive academic uses, this workshop is aimed at who see generative AI as, for the most part, an obstacle to the learning goals and skill development we seek in our classes. In the age of AI, what sorts of assignments and assessments might we design that are "AI-proof"? We will discuss strategies for minimizing student AI use in courses where professors feel AI is being used to the detriment of educational aims.
