The Wiliam & Mary Raymond A. Mason School of Business is honored to welcome our colleagues from around the country for the 2017 conference at our historic campus in Williamsburg, Virginia!

Over 400 years ago, on the banks of the majestic James River, as the Virginia Company established a foothold in the new world, the seeds were sown for a nation based on free enterprise and a marketplace of ideas and personal liberties. Almost from the outset of this experiment in exploration, commerce, risk and reward, William & Mary served as a catalyst for the ideas and the people who would, quite literally, change the world. William & Mary, chartered in 1693, has been called the Alma mater of the Nation because the leaders who had such a profound effect on shaping our democracy ? Washington, Jefferson, Patrick Henry, John Marshall, James Monroe ? either studied here or walked its historic pathways and cobblestones debating the merits of a republic based on ?life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.?

Airport Information:

There are a variety of airports that serve the Williamsburg community:

  • Newport News/Williamsburg (PHF) ? This is the closest airport to Williamsburg (and preferred by most)?about 20 miles east. It is small and only served by American, Delta, and United airlines, although the schedules are pretty extensive. Taxi fares will run about $50, and Uber fares will run about $40. Rental cars and limo services are available.
  • Richmond International (RIC) ? Located about 50 miles west of Williamsburg, Richmond carriers include American, JetBlue, Allegiant, Delta, Southwest, and United. There is a variety of transportation options available including rental cars, taxis, and pre-arranged shuttles and limos. Because of the distance, taxi fares can run about $100 and Uber fares about $60.
  • Norfolk International (ORF) ? While not too far in miles (about 50 from Williamsburg), the drive from Norfolk to Williamsburg includes traveling through the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel at the Chesapeake Bay which can be congested due to traffic?so additional travel time is recommended. Taxi fare will depend on traffic timing, of course, but will run $60-$80 without traffic delays. Uber fares are about $60. Airlines served at Norfolk International include American, Delta, Southwest, and United.

Rail information:

The train station in Williamsburg (WBG) is located only a few blocks from campus and is served by Amtrak?s Northeastern Regional trains. The train is a great way to avoid traffic down the I-95 corridor from DC. Some hotels offer shuttle service to/from the train station.
