AMES 351: Short Course in AMES
After the Quake: Japan Responds to the Tohoku Disaster
This 1 credit course will meet for a series of faculty led sessions in which students will be introduced to responses to the Tohoku Disaster, and other disasters in Japan's history, from the perspectives of the literary, anthropological, and historical. The remainder of the semester will be dedicated to students presenting their own research on the Tohoku situation. Students will be required to write an 8-10 page paper that they will present at a conference on campus in the spring. Instructor permission required.
