[PAST EVENT] Unlikely Allies: How Hip Hop Reformed the Criminal Justice System-Film Screening with Q & A
Access & Features
- Open to the public

In 2003, a low-level cannabis case resulting in 20 federal charges and a potential 105-year prison sentence would end Weldon Angelos’ promising career in the music industry. But it would also give birth to a national movement to reform our country’s criminal justice system, uniting far right conservatives like billionaire Charles Koch and Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) with liberals such as Senator Corey Booker, Van Jones and musicians Alicia Keys, and Snoop Dogg. The film Unlikely Allies, written by Anthony Pedone, Max Blecker and directed by Anthony Pedone recounts the events. After the film screening, Anthony Pedone and Professor Mark Osler, University of St. Thomas School of Law, will be present for Q & A.
