The Muscarelle Museum and W&M Libraries invites William & Mary students to the opening of our 1619/2019 exhibition.
The 1619/2019 Exhibition marks the 400-year anniversary of the first documented arrival of Africans in Colonial Virginia. In commemoration, the Muscarelle exhibition will feature artworks from African American and Native American, emergent and established, artists who express the complex experience of slavery and forced migration through their work.
The exhibition student opening will include light food and non-alcoholic beverages. Exclusive access to the museum will be offered to attendees as an opportunity to browse the gallery and speak about the work. This event is free to all William & Mary students.
