Vanguard Cording Celebration
Access & Features
- Registration/RSVP
At William & Mary, we take pride in honoring our students and their achievements throughout the commencement weekend. As part of these celebrations, students have the opportunity to participate in host of events that recognize their unique journeys and communities. These events highlight traditions, heritage, and personal milestones, offering meaningful ways for students, their loved ones, and the William & Mary community to celebrate together. All are welcome!
The Vanguard Cording Ceremony is William & Mary’s pre-commencement event honoring the achievements of first-generation and limited-income (FGLI) graduating students. Started in 2023 as a Senior Recognition and End of Year Celebration, this event celebrates the journeys of FGLI students, recognizing their resilience, accomplishments, and the legacy they leave behind within the campus community as they step into their next chapter.
This is a William & Mary 2025 Commencement Weekend Event for graduating students, their guests, and the W&M community. If you have questions regarding this ceremony, please contact the department directly.
