Kicking off LGBTQ+ History Month, join the Center for Student Diversity and Alma Mater Productions (AMP) in welcoming Lea Delaria as she shares her story in entertainment as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
The event, which includes a 20 minute question-and-answer session, will take place on Wednesday, October 2nd in Commonwealth at 7:00 PM and doors open at 6:30 PM. Additionally, this event will feature a meet & greet afterwards in the Sadler Atrium.
Lea Delaria, known for her three time, SAG Award winning, stand-out role as ‘Carrie ‘Big Boo’ Black’ in the Netflix hit series “Orange is the New Black," is also a long time comedian and jazz musician.
Lea holds the distinction of being the first openly gay comic on television in America which has led to countless television and film roles including programs like Shameless, Broad City, Law and Order: SVU, Friends, and so much more. She’s received Obie & Theater World Awards and has played both Eddie & Dr. Scott in the gender-bending Broadway musical The Rocky Horror Show. Lea will be starring in the upcoming series, Reprisal, which is set to premiere on Hulu December 6, 2020.
