[PAST EVENT] W&M Charlottesville-Highlands Stargazing Night
Location
The UVA Leander McCormick Observatory | 600 McCormick Rd., Charlottesville, VA 22904Access & Features
- Free food
- Registration/RSVP
Join your local W&M alumni and parent community for a private event at UVA's Leander McCormick Observatory. This is a family-friendly event welcoming stargazers 12 years old and up.
The Observatory is one of Charlottesville's gems, but please come prepared for a dark approach and a building that is not handicapped accessible. We recommend you bundle up and BYO flashlight for the walk from the parking lot. More information about the Observatory and access here.
This event is free to attend, though participants will be invited to make a donation to support the Observatory's educational outreach programs while onsite. Registration is capped at 50 people and the parking lot is limited to just 20 cars, so help maximizing transportation will be expected. When registering, you'll be asked if you're willing to be paired with other attendees to coordinate carpooling from a nearby location. Light refreshments will be provided. The event is rain or shine (but let's hope for clear skies for good viewing!).
It's sure to be an evening you won't soon forget. See you under the stars!
