Did you know that jellyfish are a type of plankton? These beautiful animals?with long trailing tentacles and pulsing, umbrella-like bells?have been drifting through our oceans since before dinosaurs roamed the Earth, managing to survive all this time without a brain! Today, though, explosions in jelly numbers have caused trouble for both humans and the environment. Learn about different species of jellyfish found in the oceans and Chesapeake Bay, their role in the ecosystem, and how people have used them throughout history.
