R/V Virginia

VIMS' 93-foot research vessel Virginia will be in Alexandria, Virginia for a public open house on Sunday, December 8 (noon to 3:00 PM) and Monday, December 9 (11 AM-1 PM). Step onto the working deck and see why the Virginia is the most modern, capable vessel in its size class in the U.S. Learn about research conducted aboard the vessel, as well as its high-tech equipment and navigational systems. The Virginia will be docked at the City of Alexandria Marina (near the Torpedo Factory in Old Town). All ages are welcome to visit the dockside educational booth; adults and children ages 10 and up may board the vessel. This event is free, open to the public, and registration is not required. Come by and see us!
