Juneteenth celebrates June 19th, 1865, when the last enslaved people in Texas were finally informed of their freedom - a full two years after Emancipation. Now, centuries later, we still have work to do. Please join us in a community discussion, and lend your voice with ideas for a true path forward. We cannot simply go back to the way things were, we must take actionable steps towards change. We urge the entire W&M community to come with your grievances, come with your policy ideas, come with your full human self. The Townhall will be on June 19th at 6 pm EST. This zoom event allows only the first 300 people to join the call, so please be timely. We will feature some short testimonials from students, updates on what SA is doing to address community concerns, and finally, we will hold a community discussion on the path forward. All are welcome to attend but only student voices will be heard.
