[PAST EVENT] Summer Story Time Series with Lisa Rogers '82

Parents and alumni with children are invited to join author Lisa Rogers '82 for a reading of her children's books "16 Words: Williams Carlos Williams and 'The Red Wheelbarrow'" and "Hound Won’t Go."

The reading will be moderated by Carrie Cooper, dean of university libraries. After the reading, time will be available for questions and discussion from kids (and kids at heart!).

About the author:

Lisa Rogers is an elementary school librarian and a former newspaper reporter and editor. She grew up in West Long Branch, NJ, not far from where Thaddeus Marshall, the inspiration for William Carlos Williams' poem "The Red Wheelbarrow," tended his garden. "16 Words: William Carlos Williams and the Red Wheelbarrow" is her first book for children.

Lisa received a 2016 PEN New England Susan P. Bloom Children's Book Discovery Award for an early version of "16 Words." She holds a master's degree in Library and Information Science and two degrees in English Literature.

Lisa lives with her family near the halfway point of the Boston Marathon, which she's run four times. She loves to garden, kayak, paint, and have adventures with her sweet and stubborn coonhound, Tucker. Tucker's personality inspired her rhyming picture book, "Hound Won’t Go," published on April 1, 2020.
