We would like to inform you about an exciting event we are planning for the Higher Education Program in the School of Education at the College of William and Mary. On September 14-15 we will be hosting a reunion event for our alumni and will be bringing back former faculty to campus to partake in a panel about the future of higher education. A reception on September 14 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the School of Education building starts the weekend and we look forward to welcoming back to campus former faculty members, Clif Conrad, Mary Ann Danowitz, John Thelin, Roger Baldwin, David Leslie and Tom Goodale. Additionally, these former faculty will share their thoughts about the future of higher education in a panel on Saturday, September 15 from 10-11:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow, featuring a poster session displaying the research of current students and alumni. Professional roundtables will be held for networking from 2-3:30 p.m.
We are pleased to have Peter Garland, Executive Vice Chancellor of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, as our keynote speaker at dinner at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 15. The title of Peter's talk is: Board Members Behaving Badly and President's Running with Scissors: Who's In Charge of Higher Education? Peter holds both a B.A. and a M.Ed. from William and Mary and it is a pleasure to invite back such a distinguished alum. The registration site for this event may be accessed via the link below.
