[PAST EVENT] Patrick Hayes Writers' Festival: Alexander McCall Smith

Award-winning novelist Alexander McCall Smith will headline this spring's Patrick Hayes Writers' Festival, sponsored by the creative writing program of the William and Mary English department. His talk will be at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, at the Kimball Theatre. The lecture is free; tickets are required, however, and are at the Kimball box office. Box office hours are 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Maximum four tickets per person. Attendees from out of town may call 1-800-HISTORY and reserve tickets.
A reception and book signing in the Kimball Theatre lobby will follow Alexander McCall Smith's lecture.
Alexander McCall Smith has written more than 60 books, including specialist academic titles, short story collections, and a number of immensely popular children's books. Referred to as our new P.G. Wodehouse, he is best known for his internationally acclaimed No. 1 "Ladies' Detective Agency" series, which rapidly rose to the top of the bestseller lists throughout the world.
