The School of Education is holding an information session for prospective students interested in pursuing a master's degree in Literacy Leadership, which leads to a reading specialist endorsement. on Oct. 11 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the Holly Room of the Professional Development Center. The program is aligned with state and national standards and the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in Literacy. Courses include literacy leadership and coaching, language development for English Language Learners and extensive practicum experiences. The session will include information on the program of studies, the application process, scholarship money and prospective students will meet program faculty and graduates. Following the information session, prospective students are encouraged to stay for an alumni event which will include a presentation by Dr. Sara Miller on writing instruction followed by alumni networking.
