Welcome to the 2012 Annual Symposium for Pilgrimage Studies sponsored by the Institute for Pilgrimage Studies at the College of William & Mary and the International Consortium on Pilgrimage Studies. This first Symposium promises to be an exciting event with a number of speakers from a broad range of disciplines such as religious studies, anthropology, Hispanic studies, art history, kinesiology, classical studies, medieval history and sociology. Additional highlights for conference participants and the community at large include a Friday night (October 12) special rough-cut screening of The Camino Documentary, with a post-screening conversation with director and producer, Lydia B. Smith. On Saturday night (October 13) there will be a dance performance, "Outer Pathway/Inner Journey," to enhance understanding and interpretation of movement made ritual.
