Come join us for a paddle on Powhatan Creek with marine-life experts from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, College of William and Mary.The quiet, picturesque creek, which flows into the James River and Chesapeake Bay near historic Jamestowne, is home to beautiful bald cypress trees, a wealth of marine life, and a wide variety of birds. All gear-including kayaks, paddles, and life vests-will be supplied by Chesapeake Experience, a local provider of hands-on, educational experiences to increase stewardship of the bay and its watershed.Chesapeake Experience is owned and operated by Jill Bieri, who received her Master's degree from the College of William and Mary's School of Marine Science at VIMS in 1992. Ages 12 and up. Cost is $45 per person.
