[PAST EVENT] W&M Night at Merchants Square
November 29, 2012
6pm - 11:59pm
Location
Merchants Square
The event will begin at the William & Mary Bookstore at 6:00 p.m. with a can food drive to benefit the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula. The first 500 participants to donate three (3) cans or more will receive a special holiday-themed commemorative t-shirt and Santa will be available throughout the evening for photo opportunities.
Additional activities will include chili & cider from the Trellis, dessert from the Wythe Candy & Gourmet Shop and special offers from the DoG Street Pub. The Virginia Theatre Machine will perform a humorous street-theatre rendition of A Christmas Carol and the William & Bookstore will offer their popular holiday discount of 20% on storewide purchases (10% on Nook devices) with a valid W&M ID (offer not valid on textbooks).
"This event is an opportunity for students to have an enjoyable evening in Merchants Square that is all about them," said Cathy Pacheco, William & Mary Bookstore Manager and Vice President of the Merchants Square Association. Chad Chadbourn, of the W&M MBA Association added, "the food drive also allows us to support an organization that needs a tremendous amount of support not only this time of year, but year round."
The Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula serves the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson and Williamsburg and the counties of Gloucester, James City, Mathews, Surry and York.
