[PAST EVENT] Patrick Henry Debate
April 24, 2013
7pm - 8:30pm
The Patrick Henry Debate Union will present its final on-campus event for this academic year.
We will debate the completion of the Keystone Pipeline to pump crude tar sand oil from Canada to Texas for refining. Mike Ambrose and J. Ledbetter will affirm completing the pipeline. David E. Branton and Shannon Kate Crawford will oppose completing the pipeline. Both teams are award-winning participants on the Collegiate Forensics Association circuit, with Ledbetter and Branton also winning first and third speaker recognitions at the recent end-of-the-year tournament in Ocean City, MD.
The Patrick Henry Debate Union is founded on the principle of ethical communication accessible to all and of educational value to all to help in their consideration of important issues.
This debate is free and open to the public, and a major part of the public debate format is audience participation prior to the final summary speeches of each side.
Please encourage your students, colleagues, family and friends to attend, to participate, and to learn much about this important energy, economic, environmental and political topic!
