Brent B. Allred joined the faculty of the Mason School of Business at the College of William & Mary in 1999. He earned his Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University and an M.B.A. and B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University. Prior to returning to academics, he spent many years in the high tech industry with Intel, Novell, Symantec and Central Point Software. He has had extensive international experience and interactions and has lived in Scotland, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Belgium and Bulgaria.
He currently teaches Strategic Management at a graduate level. He has also taught various management courses, including International Business, Entrepreneurship and Fundamentals of Management at different academic institutions. While at Penn State he was awarded the outstanding teaching award from the College of Business in 1999 and has received various teaching awards in the Mason School of Business. His research interests include global competitive strategy and organization structure, the impact of national context on firm strategic focus and performance, and the management of technology and innovation. He is a member of the Academy of Management, Academy of International Business and the Strategic Management Society.
