The Virginia Symphony, which includes about 10 members of William & Mary music faculty, will perform a free concert at the Lake Matoaka Amphitheatre on Aug. 29 at 7:30 p.m.
Full Description
The concert, sponsored by William & Mary and the City of Williamsburg, will include a mix of classical and modern pieces. The symphony will perform works by Beethoven, Verdi, Debussy, John Philip Sousa and Leonard Bernstein as well as music from the motion pictures Up and The Sound of Music among other pieces.

Guests are invited to bring family and friends, beach chairs and blankets. Personal coolers and picnic baskets will be permitted; however, no external alcohol will be allowed. Wine will be available for purchase on site. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be held at Phi Beta Kappa Hall.
