This first play in The Coast of Utopia trilogy won both the Tony and Olivier Awards for Best Play. Built on the premise that "the political is the personal," Stoppard explores the tensions between the emotional and intellectual lives of a group of idealistic reformers and an aristocratic family. Magnificent period costumes and scenic projections of the countryside recreate mid-19th century Russia. Set against the panoramic backdrop of monumental pressures for social change, Stoppard captures the rhythms of both Tolstoy and Chekhov in a drama that appeals to both the head and the heart.

Voyage (Coast of Utopia Part 1) is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
