[PAST EVENT] Intro to ASL Workshop

April 3, 2024
6pm - 8pm
Location
Tidewater, Sadler Center

American Sign Language Club is teaming up with Student Assembly to put on an ASL, Deaf culture, and accessibility workshop on April 3rd. We will be talking about accommodations in and out of the classroom, learning to fingerspell and sign some basic vocab, and hearing from alum and ASL Club founder himself Philip Woodward about his experience as a Hard of Hearing student at W&M and the work he does now in disability law! Join us in Tidewater from 6 to 8pm to learn more about the beautiful world of ASL and how to be a better accessibility ally to the d/Deaf community.

Snacks will be provided, and the event will be accompanied by ASL interpreters and an online CART stream.
