Zooplankton

Zooplankton - animal drifters - are some of the smallest animals on Earth and yet have a huge impact on our globe! Kristen Sharpe, MS '22, will provide a presentation about the vast diversity of zooplankton species, shapes, and sizes; as well as the role that their fecal pellets (AKA poop) play on the oceanic food web and global climate! VIMS Outreach will also have an exhibit including preserved zooplankton from around the world for attendees to observe and interact with.
