Mr. Travers received degrees in government and economics from William and Mary, as well as an MBA and JD degree from George Washington University. He served in many notable positions, including the Deputy and Acting Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) and Deputy Homeland Security Advisor for President Biden. He specialized in national security, terrorism, watchlisting, information sharing, and advanced analytic techniques.
