The Richmond Teacher Residency is a graduate teacher residency program at Virginia Commonwealth University. We are like Teach for America in that we are highly selective, serve a high needs population and seek passionate students; yet we are different from TFA in that we offer a Master of Teaching degree, a year-long residency co-teaching with a master teacher and continued induction support after employment as a teacher. This is a four-year program leading to employment with Richmond Public Schools in the second year. We offer a $19K stipend, up to an additional $10K for qualifying science majors, a special M.T. program rate and reduced housing.
We are seeking students who have a 3.0 or higher and majored in either math, biology, chemistry, environmental science, geology, physics, English or history.
