[PAST EVENT] Onawumi Jean Moss- The Soulful Storyteller

Onawumi is known for relating fables, folklore, original and personal stories to familiar 21st-century realities. Using distinctive vocalization and intonation, facial expression and movement along with songs and chants, this oral artist brings her listeners stories of the legacy, struggles and victories of people of African heritage throughout the diaspora. In the course of doing so, she aims to inspire community and coalition building within and across cultural boundaries. And yes, she has a wicked sense of humor, she is compassionate and fierce!
