[PAST EVENT] Personal Statement Workshop

March 1, 2015
1pm - 3pm
Location
Blow Memorial Hall, Room 201

Williamsburg, VA 23185Map this location
This two hour workshop, led by Head Peer Scholarship Advisor Greg Collier, will help participants with the best strategies to tackle the personal statement which is widely regarded as the hardest part of an application. A well-written, compelling personal statement can tip the balance between two proposals of similar quality; yet often the statements committees read are formulaic and uninteresting. This workshop will focus on the personal statement requested for the Charles Center Summer Research Grants, but much of the information and activities are applicable to most any personal statement prompt from national scholarships and fellowships, as well as many graduate programs.
