The Intersection of Art, Community, and Learning: Supporting the Transition and Well-being of Veterans and Service Members
Discussion led by Sam Pressler, W&M '15
2015 Echoing Green Global Fellow | Founder of the Armed Services Arts Partnership and W&M Center for Veterans Engagement

Sam Pressler will lead an open conversation on the role of community, the arts, and education in fostering a healthy and successful transition. We will explore the power of artistic expression and community support in promoting well-being, and we will brainstorm how different forms of narrative can be used to bridge the divide between veterans and their civilian counterparts. If interest allows, we will give participants a taste of the Hampton Roads Veterans Writing Group, diving into a brief creative writing session. We will wrap up the afternoon with questions and next steps for getting involved in the myriad veterans arts communities in Hampton Roads.

Free and open to the public.
