Building a Movement for Change: From Isolated Enthusiasm to Best Practices, Presented by Jill Piacitelli and Melody Porter

The idea of changing the world with the 'Power of One' is a dramatic, compelling image, but real social change only happens when small committed groups put their power together and push forward toward change. Using the Compact model in alternative breaks as a case study, this workshop will explore how groups of active citizens have joined together for change in the past, describe the work of the Haiti Compact as a model for best practices and involve participants in a process to develop a Compact of their own.

Social Change: A Process, Not an Accident, Presented by Allison Anoll
