In the context of students' first-year experience, participants consider underlying principles of communication, the specific goals of 100 or 150, example assignments and syllabi that have worked for other faculty, and ways to integrate the communications/writing component to support your course content. By design, the workshop moves from the general to the specific -- you'll walk away with a good draft syllabus for your course and lots of new ideas that work.
