The Society of Women in Computing (William & Mary's chapter of ACM-W) will be holding a Grace Hopper Panel discussion for those who are interested in attending, want to learn more about this worthwhile conference, or discuss the gender gap in technology. This year's attendees as well as attendees from previous years will be available to discuss their experiences and thoughts on the keynote speeches, expo, presentations, and everything offered at GHC. This year 10 William & Mary students attended the conference either funded by the CS Department, the official Grace Hopper scholarship, or the companies they interned at. We hope in the coming years this number will grow!

The panel will be moderated by Professor Smirni, who also attended the very first GHC in 1994! Immediately following the panel, the discussion will open up to Q&A. We all know a love for computer science makes us hungry, so there will be ~PIZZA~ as well as ~SNACKS~ :)

If you would like to know more about the Grace Hopper Conference, check out http://ghc.anitaborg.org/

For those of you unaware of what ACM-W actually is, we're an organization aimed at bridging the gender gap in tech :D We support, celebrate, and advocate for the full engagement of women in all aspects of the computing field. Specifically for our chapter, we want to create a central organization where women (and everyone) can network, foster relationships and share their experiences in computing!!

For our panel, we will have prepared questions to guide the conversation, but this event is for you! So please bring any questions you have about the conference or about women in computing, in general. Anyone is welcome to attend!

Feel free to Invite any your friends who are interested! We can't wait to see everyone there, let us know if you have any questions!!

If you are not yet on the ACM-W listserv and would like to be, please email [[e|arpelleti]], and we'll add you right away!
