Location

Merrimac Mentors volunteer with incarcerated youth from Merrimac Juvenile Detention Center on a weekly basis. We organize a variety of activities for the students: past events have included pizza making, trips to Thomas Nelson Community College, and discussions on respect and harassment with HOPE volunteers. We also meet once a week to discuss issues within the justice system, including mental health, the school-to-prison pipeline, and the intersection of race and class in incarceration. We are looking for thoughtful, passionate student volunteers for the Fall 2017 semester! Come see what our organization is all about!
