The Associates of the Late Reverend Dr. Thomas Bray of London, with the recommendation of Benjamin Franklin, created a school for free and enslaved African American children in Williamsburg, Virginia, 1760-1774. Come to the porch talk on Wednesday, April 12th at 12:00pm in Chesapeake C to find out how the Bray School started, what was taught and what the impact of that learning meant for the future of African Americans.  Lunch  provided. Please register. Faculty, staff, students, and community members are welcome.
